Will explore the blessings and benefits of Coming Home. Beginning with “Who Are We as Adventists?” with Jiri Moskala, PhD, and continuing thru the week, each speaker will focus on inspirational presentations on various emotional and spiritual aspects of the home. Come out early and be blessed!

Speakers and Dates

Jiri Moskala, PhD is professor of Old Testament exegesis and theology and dean of the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Andrews University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. Pastor Moskala has served in a variety of capacities within the Seventh-day Adventist Church including ordained pastor, administrator, and teacher. Moskala travels widely throughout the world church and is an active member of the Adventist Theological Society. He also belongs to a variety of other professional societies andcontributes to a wide variety of scholarly and denominational publications. Pastor Moskala and his wife Eva, our proud parents of five successful adults who have blessed their family with eleven grandchildren to love.

Lori-Anne Poirier is a former freelance journalist turned schoolteacher who will begin her fourth-year teaching at Okanagan Christian School in Kelowna, this September. She is a wife to Kyle and mother to two fun teenagers, Oliver and Amélie, who she looks forward to teaching again next year. In her spare time, Lori-Anne enjoys travelling, writing and speaking about her faith.

Jordan Wirtz was born in Alberta but raised in Kelowna, BC. Currently he serves as the principal of Okanagan Christian school. In 2019, he reconnected with his high school sweetheart Lynn, creating a beautiful, blended family with three boys. Jordan is passionate about Christian education According to Jordan, he can come off as serious, but his wife can attest that he is a child at heart. He loves being creative whether it’s doing art, playing music, or building things; getting lost in the woods; crashing into piles of snow; or hopping onto the fastest rollercoaster he can find.

Jenny Wong graduated with a Master of Divinity from Andrews University in 2023. She has been a pastor’s wife for many years and enjoys serving along with her husband. She is currently hired by the British Columbia Conference as an Assistant Pastor of the Vancouver SDA Chinese Church where her husband serves as a Senior Pastor. Together, they hope to grow the Chinese ministry in Greater Vancouver. They are blessed with three children, Ruth, Isaac, and Miriam. Jenny loves music and has composed sixteen Christian songs so far.

Gary Gibbs is the conference President of Pennsylvania and a passionate advocate for evangelism. He is the author of several books and numerous GLOW tracts, including The New Winsome Witnessing and Prophecies of Hope Bible study guides. Pastor Gibbs has served as a church administrator, television and media pioneer, pastor, evangelist, and church growth consultant. He is a sought-after trainer and coach for his practical approach to growing churches, evangelism, and personal witnessing. He and his wife Sherilyn have two adult daughters.

Kandus Thorp is the wife of Pastor Brad Thorp. Kandus, alongside her husband Brad, are co-founders of the Seventh-Day Adventist church’s global Hope Channel International television network. She has travelled extensively across the globe, visiting and working in nearly seventy countries. Kandus is passionate in her love of Jesus and desire for others to meet Jesus and experience a personal relationship with Him. Her sincere and genuine love for Jesus is contagious. Kandus is known for authentic, refreshing and simple Biblical approaches to practical daily living. The Thorp’s have three married sons and eight precious grandchildren to love.

Alrick Watson is the VP of Administration and Executive Secretary for the British Columbia Conference. Pastor Alrick began his ministry in Ontario and then served in Alberta before pastoring in BC and then joining the administration team of the conference. A focus of his ministry has been in literature evangelism. He is dedicated and committed to solid preaching of the Word, and is a kind, compassionate “servant leader”. He and his wife Tara (a pre-school teacher) have a daughter at Burman and son at Fraser Valley Academy.
